Ashdown FA60 Fallen Angel Combo Guitar Amplifier

Designed for a new breed of guitarists demanding a saturated, singing soloing voice while still retaining loads of bottom end punch, the Fallen Angel 60 features a capable clean channel with gain, treble, middle, bass and volume controls. But it's Channel 2 that really rocks, offering everything from big, fat bottomed tone (perfect for muted power chords on 7-string guitars), right through to screaming, soaring lead sounds. The Fallen Angels' secret lies in some very clever tube circuit design. With most tube amps, you only get the best solo voice when the output stage is working close to flat out which often means it's too loud, so some kind of power soak is used to get this sound at lower levels. Trouble is, you then don't have the power you need on tap for massive, bass-heavy chords. That's why the solo voice character on the Fallen Angels comes from the preamp stage, so maximum grunt is always available from the power stage whenever you need it.
