The well-established and innovative all solid wood 16 Series was originally conceived and developed as an experiment to deliver better sound without higher cost. Martin succeeded by using a combination of our proprietary bracing systems called hybrid “X" bracing on a solid wood instrument. Now this series of guitars has become a longtime Martin favorite. Features for the 16 Series generally include solid wood top, back and sides, patented neck mortise, and hybrid “X" bracing. The new 16 Series Premium models include Fishman Premium electronics that are state of the art in sound reinforcement.
