The heads on the 11 and 18 models feature a small bronze core that "kicks in" at higher dynamic levels for greater projection. The nylon, tight-weave yarn resists wear and sounds better with use. The attack tone on this mallet is free of yarn noise and slap making it ideal for recording or chamber use.
